1 Years, BREED MIX: Shepard/Doberman mix GENDER: Female APPROX. AGE: Approx. 1 year old SIZE & WEIGHT: Medium, approx. 30 lbs CURRENT LOCATION: We are accepting applications for potential adopter's that look like good matches for her since she is currently in Jamaica. HISTORY/BACKGROUND: Daisy and her boyfriend Casper were found at a resort in Jamaica called Couple's that was swept away. Vacationers from Cochrane, Alberta met them when the two were begging for food, since they like most dogs there are homeless and terribly hungry. The Albertan's fell in love with Daisy and immediately decided they were not going to leave the two behind at an abandoned hotel. (We love these people!) With the help of Mimi (a staff at the resort) they were able to coordinate with a place called Animal House Jamaica, a rescue organization located at Ocho Rios. Daisy is now vet checked and ready to travel but still in Jamaica. We are all waiting for the heat wave to pass so she can fly to Calgary to find her furever family. TEMPERAMENT & PERSONALITY: Daisy is very sweet, loves attentions and her belly rubs. She has a very nice disposition and a is a social butterfly. Daisy seems to be somewhat house trained, given she was homeless. (Dogs however for the most part, are easy to house train she don't want to use the inside of their living space as a bathroom.) Daisy was a lucky dog found on the beach and got to stay at nights in the room of her rescued people where she did great and even would let them know if she needed to go out to to go potty. We do not know how she is yet with cats or small dogs. Probably not until she arrives. As mentioned, Daisy is currently in Jamaica and has already been vaccinated and will be spayed soon. She is expected to fly with Delta airlines in approximately 2-3 weeks. FAVORITE THINGS: She loves belly rubs and sleeping on the beach. TRANSPORTING: If any Calgarians are going to Jamaica soon, or know anyone, please let us know. It is costly to fly dogs without a passenger onboard, so we always put the word out. If you could also pass the word, social media really comes through many times in unexpected ways! Daisy's rescuers are paying for her air and vetting, however, given the high cost of no passenger onboard an airline, it's sure nice to help out the people paying and cut down costs as much as possible. All a vacationer needs to do going that way is meet the rescue organization at the counter at both destinations. Everything is paid and done for the transport helper. Please see website rockymountainanimalrescue.com for more details and to apply. (403) 818-0703
