5 Years, Hi there,
We would like to introduce you to Shannon: the most beautiful, free-spirited purebred Golden Retriever, a member of our family since she was just a puppy.
With the biggest brown eyes and an unconditionally loving heart, it makes this decision all the more difficult. Shannon is literally a part of our family and she has been since day one: she is really intelligent, has the ability to read your emotional energies, (seems like) she understands everything you talk to her about, loves other people and dogs, will comfort you when you're feeling sad or force you to get outside when you only want to close the blinds... We could go on and on.
We love Shannon and have exhausted every resource to our advantage to keep her in our home and in our lives, but part of loving someone so much is learning when to make the most compassionate choices for their well being. Right now we are in unfortunate circumstances that no longer allow us to provide her the care, attention, exercise, and space/freedom that she deserves.
Ideally, we are looking for a mature family that will welcome her into their home, with open arms. We lived previously in a large house with a massive backyard, and later out on acreage property - outdoors and exercise are going to be very important. However, Shannon has been raised as an inside dog and has grown accustomed to cozying up in bed, on the couch, or where ever is comfiest.
We understand that we are asking a lot - bring a new family member into your life - there are several reasons why you may think it might be easier to start from scratch and get a puppy, but believe me when I say this: all you have to do is meet her to know that everything will be okay.
