APPROX. AGE: 2-5 years old
SIZE & WEIGHT: Small, 8 lbs.
HISTORY/BACKGROUND: Was found as a stray in Las Vegas, Nevada and our team worked with the large shelter to help some little dogs that would not of been picked for adoption. Roman was one of them.
TEMPERAMENT & PERSONALITY: Roman is shy since he never had anyone to love or be kind to him. He is quiet, and hides when new people come around, then comes out to be near activity and watch. He really likes to be near other dogs and curl up with them. Roman is independent type. The opposite of needy.
BEST MATCH: An adopter who understand Roman is afraid of new people and will take time to come out of his shell. He is best placed with an individual or family without children, since kids coming and going can be too noisy for Roman, plus, he doesn't want to be picked up at this point. He prefers to lay next to you on the couch or bedtime. Roman has been known to guard a big bag of kibble on the floor, no doubt from his street dog/starvation days. An adopter needs to have patience and not be looking for perfection with this little guy, since he'll need time to adjust to having a family and realizing he will always now have food and someone to care about him and his needs. An adopter who has another dog would be best too. Roman is a great little dog, he needs someone who has the patience to allow him to come around at his own pace, and he will prove to be the best little pet ever in due time. FAVORITE THINGS: Being around other dogs and cuddling with them. Being warm and eating his meals. Roman also likes investigating the yard. He is also starting to enjoy playing, he just learned, and when you speak really sweet and happy to him, he loves it!
