1 Years, BREED MIX: Akbash
GENDER: Male (neutered)
APPROX. AGE: 1 year and 4 months
SIZE/WEIGHT: Very Large, 85lbs
HISTORY/BACKGROUND: Yeti was brought to a shelter up north by a woman who could not handle a large dog. Growing up as a puppy Yeti had a home, until that family decided Yeti was too large and rambunctious for them, so they gave him to the woman who took him to the shelter. No one was showing interest in Yeti at the shelter, so they asked us if we would help find him a good home.
TEMPERAMENT & PERSONALITY: Yeti is very goofy and playful. He has done well with female dogs and needs more socialization in general. He warms up to people quickly, but unsure of new people at first. We are getting him more socialized so he feels more comfortable when meeting strangers. So far he is good with small dogs and cats, but we need more time with him to evaluate. Yeti is a guard dog type, so needs a home with space, no children would be best, and another large playful big dog would be nice so he has a friend to play with. Once Yeti knows you, he is one big loyal friend. He likely would do very well in a ranch type setting, or farm, or home with acreage or large outdoor space. An adopter that is a runner would also be a good match, and/or goes to lakes since Yeti likes to swim.
FAVORITE THINGS: Loves playing in the yard with toys, antler chews, you playing fetch with him (most all dogs Love this!), going for walks/jogging, belly rubs, relaxing outside in the sunshine. We were told he likes to swim, so someone that goes to lakes would be an extra bonus for this big boy!
